JIM BUDREAU is a dynamic Boston based attorney with over 20 years of experience in complex criminal litigation and appeals in state and federal court. Jim's regularly represents professionals and executives accused of business, banking, SEC and white collar offenses. He also represents individuals accused of major felonies including vehicular homicide, first degree murder, arson, sexual assaults and various financial and narcotics violations. Jim's client list has included talk show hosts, music professionals, business executives, lawyers, organized crime figures and law enforcment officials. He has won acquittals and reversals for multiple clients in first degree murder cases, company executives and presidents accused of federal offenses, organized crime figures and entertainers accused of narcotics trafficking and other serious felonies in federal and state courts throughout New England.

Jim taught at Harvard Law School and ran the Hale and Dorr Employment Law Clinic. He clerked for the Massachusetts Superior Court and has sat on various community and professional boards including the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys and Sociedad Latina and a computer educational board.

    Acquittal in federal case alleging client had used his corporation as a front for a criminal  enterprise that included allegations of  laundering illegal proceeds through the company.
  • EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS SETTLEMENT
    Settlement in multi million dollar stock options case where client was improperly terminated after seeking to enforce stock options agreement.
  • VACATED OUI CONVICTION
    Predicate for third OUI offense vacated. This resulted in a Court finding that the most recent case was a 1st conviction because of a statutory technicality.
  • FIRST DEGREE MURDER ACQUITTALS
    Won two acquittals for same client four years apart in two separate first degree murder prosecutions.
